Due to its proximity to the Dixie National Forrest, Zion Ponderosa
offers skiing and snowmobile excursions throughout most of the winter
season. Guests will stay in the resort's cozy cabins and eat delicious
meals at the main lodge. After breakfast, the recreation staff will
load up the shuttle vans and head for the hills where the powder is
steep and deep. Guests can choose a short shuttle ride to cross-country
skiing and snowmobiling areas, or a longer ride to the Brian Head Ski
Resort for downhill skiing and snowboarding.
Guests will enjoy the scenic 40-minute shuttle ride to Duck Creek Village,
located in the heart of the Dixie National Forrest. Duck Creek is tucked
away between stands of evergreen and aspen. Duck Creek averages 20 feet
of fresh powder per year and boasts over 50 miles of groomed cross-country
skiing trails. Whether you are a beginner or an old timer, you will
love this excursion to one of the most scenic areas on the Colorado
Plateau. The shuttle ride to Duck Creek Village, cross-country ski equipment
rentals, and guide service is included for guests of the resort with
their all-inclusive stay.
Guests interested in snowmobiling will also ride the shuttle van to
Duck Creek Village. From the village, guests will depart on a 4 hour
guided snowmobiling trip through the Dixie National Forrest. Lunch will
be served on the trail. Guests can ride to Cedar Breaks National Monument,
a spectacular collection of exposed red sandstone located to the northeast
of the village. Guests choosing to participate in the snowmobiling excursion
will be charged an additional surcharge per guest. Shuttle service is
provided to and from Duck Creek Village. Please call our reservation
